Book Review: Techie@Heart

This whole 'personal side' and 'professional side' of the same person is a load of crap. You are the same person whether you are at work space or at home. You can't mask your real self from those who work with you all the time. Nor should you.
When the protagonist of the story, a software engineer by profession, got into India's top-most software company, he thought his life was set. He felt that his future was bright, his parents were proud of him, and he had planned a great life together with his girlfriend. Then things began to change for the worse and he was forced to reassess his dreams, to reconfigure the way he thought, and to look again at the thing called love. In a nutshell, this is the story of Karthik.

This semi autobiographical novel neatly falls in the category of writing that follows the familiar template of easy and neat prose, fast story line and a predictable plot. The book is fast and engaging, and can be completed within a couple of hours. Unfortunately, the characters could not grow fully and are forced to follow the course of events. With elements of humor and light narrative, the book is a readable book but probably not the one to which readers will return.
